Menorca Map
Discover the island along the Camí de Cavalls trail and see part of the beautiful coast and inland beauty spots on this route. The Camí de Cavalls is a path that was used to defend the coast of Menorca and connect the watchtowers and fortresses. It was built in 1330 and has been used as a way to communicate the entire island. Now, after many claims from the locals, the path has become a public road that goes around the entire island– thanks to the recovery work that has been done and completed in 2011. The Camí de Cavalls path has been included in the European Long-Distance Path.

Then, we will cross wild olive woods and juniper woods, arriving at the dunes of the paradisiacal beach of Cala en Turqueta. Along the route, we will pass through protected areas with rocky areas that intersect ravines and creeks. Before we get to Son Saura, take time to relax in almost paradise, Cala Talaier. We will then transfer from Son Saura to Ciutadella hotel.

Today’s stretch will lead us through a rocky coast, home to some predatory birds- where we will be able to witness their low flying and some sheep grazing. We will come across some hypogeum and underground cisterns and a cross in remembrance of the General Chanzy sinking. The dune system shows a very dense endemic vegetation. Beside the necropolis, there is a small water spring. At Pla de Mar, we will come across a mine and a stony stretch. The trail crosses wooded areas inhabited by forest birds and mammals. The surroundings are rocks that house predatory birds like the Muntanya Mala. We then will continue to Els Alocs Beach. We will then transfer to Port Fornells where we will spend the night.
