Siriuskogl in Bad Ischl
Siriuskogl is a mountain tower in Bad Ischl including a playground and animal zoo. They offer a very special adventure for the little guests. The guinea pigs, pigs, rabbits, goats, ponies, chickens, turtles and cottage dog Pumba are popular with old and young. An Indian tent, a swing, a large sandpit, a board and various play equipment round off the Siriuskogl experience for children. Parents can relax in the outdoor dining area and keep an eye on their children in the playground. The panoramic view of the mountains of the Salzkammergut ranges from the Dachstein massif over the Schafberg, the Gamskogl and the Katrin to the Höllengebirge. The sunsets between Schafberg and Zwölferhorn are a very special experience. Our tip: End the day with an excellent glass of wine and look forward to your next trip to Siriuskogl!
St. Wolfgang Church
The foundation of the St. Wolfgang pilgrimage church dates back to a legend in 976. Bishop Wolfgang von Regensburg lived as a hermit at Falkenstein and decided to build the first church here. He left the place of construction to a divine will through his famous “supplement”. He threw the hatchet with the vow where he found it again to build a church. According to legend, when he found the hatchet after three days, he built the church in its place of discovery on a rocky hill next to the lake.
