Marrakech to Ouaneskra

You will be picked up from your accommodation at 8 am and taken to the small town of Asni in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Your next stop is Imlil, which sits at 1750m in the Ait Misane Valley. Here, you will be welcomed with some mint tea and meet the mule driver and cook who will join you for your journey.

The walk starts here, going through the classic pink Berber village of Ait Souka and the hillside village of Tamatert. You’ll climb up to the Tamatert pass which lies at 2300m. After welcoming a short rest, you will continue down to the Imenane Valley for lunch by the river under the walnut trees. In the afternoon the walk will follow the mule tracks to Tamguist Berber village and you will stop for the night at the Ouaneskra Berber village. Sitting at 2260m you will enjoy dinner and breakfast in a traditional Berber house.

Ouaneskra to Timichi

Prepare yourself for a day of the best scenic landscapes in the area. From Ouansekra we will trek up to Tacheddirt Berber village which is the last village in the Imenane Valley. After following the mule trail through the wilderness to the Tizin Tacheddirt Pass at 3200m we will take a well-earned break for you to admire the incredible views. We will continue down to the village of Iaabassan for a tasty lunch and a longer break. After lunch, we walk along a stony trail to reach one of the nicest villages of the area, Timichi, where we will spend the night in a Berber house.

Timichi to Setti Fadma

The walk today will start a little later so you can get a good night’s sleep. Setting out, we come to the village of Anefli Tiwardiow. We head up to the pass where you will be greeted with wide, clear views over the Ourika Valley.

We hike into the Ourika Valley and we will come upon Agadir n Ait Boulemane village before arriving at Setti Fadma. Setti Fadma is a large and more well known village with many shops and restaurants. From here we will visit beautiful local waterfalls before returning to Setti Fadma for a lovely lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, taxis will take you back to Marrakech where you can rest and reflect on your incredible journey.
