Marrakech to Ouaneskra
You will be picked up from your accommodation at 8 am and taken to the small town of Asni in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Your next stop is Imlil, which sits at 1750m in the Ait Misane Valley. Here, you will be welcomed with some mint tea and meet the mule driver and cook who will join you for your journey.
The walk starts here, going through the classic pink Berber village of Ait Souka and the hillside village of Tamatert. You’ll climb up to the Tamatert pass which lies at 2300m. After welcoming a short rest, you will continue down to the Imenane Valley for lunch by the river under the walnut trees. In the afternoon the walk will follow the mule tracks to Tamguist Berber village and you will stop for the night at the Ouaneskra Berber village. Sitting at 2260m you will enjoy dinner and breakfast in a traditional Berber house.
