What is your favourite Camino holiday?
My favourite Camino walk would have to be the Camino Portugues, my first experience of the Camino and so holds many great memories for me. Although I went with family and friends, I very quickly realised that I could have walked it alone; there is nothing to be scared of and only great people to meet along the way.
What advice would you give to someone new to walking holidays?
My advice to ‘newbie’ walkers is to take your time. Don’t be daunted by the length of a days walk, it’s not a race – it’s to be enjoyed just for itself.
So enjoy each moment , every encounter, and take in the view around each bend in the road. Relax into the day and savour the slow and gentle pace.
What do you like about working in Follow the Camino / One Foot Abroad?
From the moment I started working in Follow the Camino/One Foot Abroad, I have been impressed by the positive vibe in the company. The whole team has a ‘can do’ spirit and a real wish to get the right plan in place for clients. A lovely positive place to work, planning great experiences for people.
Who are walking holidays suitable for?
I would say walking holidays are suitable for just about everyone. With life being so fast and very busy, for most of us, a walking holiday can be more than just a challenge, more than a sociable experience, and more than a simple break from normal life. It is a time to recharge the batteries, take stock of life, reconnect with yourself and just enjoy the ebb and flow of a simpler way of spending some time.
